KICNET Lender Lists

In order for the KICNET ILL module to send requests to libraries in the correct order, each library needs to establish a list of preferred lenders. These preferred lenders are based on two primary factors: the regional system in which your library is located, and the number of holdings your library has on the Kansas Library Catalog.

To use this page, click on the link for your regional library system. Using copy and paste techniques, transfer the list of library codes to the Lender List in your KICNET Participant Record. Each library will need to modify the suggested lender lists to take out their own library code, and to move libraries in their own community (and other libraries with which they have special arrangements) to the top of their preferred lender list. If desired, libraries can place their own library code at the top of their list, so that any requests accidentally generated for items the library owns could be caught before going out to other libraries.

In this way, requests are sent in accordance with the Kansas Protocols for Cooperative Resource Sharing.

If you need assistance, contact your regional library system automation or ILL staff or the Resource Sharing Division of the State Library.
