Application for Library Participation in KICNET

To be sure your library meets the criteria and accepts the conditions of the agreement, please:

  • read, complete and submit this application form

  • read, sign and submit the KIC Council Membership Agreement. New applications will not be approved, or system account permissions activated for training, until the agreement is signed and on file at the State Library. Failure to renew the agreement, or to abide by its terms, will jeopardize a library's license to participate in KICNET.

  • if not already on file at the State Library, complete and send an ILL Annual Activity Report Form

In addition to this form:

1. Your library must sign the KIC Council Membership Agreement.

This obligates your library to add new holdings to the Kansas Library Catalog (KLC), state your lending policies in the KICNET Participant Record (if a member of KICNET), and loan materials.

2. Your library must complete and send an ILL Annual Activity Report Form.

3. Your library must have Internet access and an appropriate browser. Effective with AGent Version 2.4, the minimum recommended browser versions for use with AGent are Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 5.5 (or higher), Netscape Version 6.2 (or higher) and Firefox Version 1.0.7 (or higher).

Answers to Frequently Asked Questions:

What happens if my library administration decides not to sign the KIC Agreement?

New applications will not be approved until the agreement is signed and on file at the State Library. Failure to renew the agreement, or to abide by its terms, will jeopardize a library's license to participate in KICNET.

If my library isn't licensed to participate in KICNET, can it still participate in ILL?

Of course! Most libraries will accept ILL requests via other methods, including the standard ALA form or fax. Your regional library system may offer other methods internally.
