Interlibrary Loan

What is this service?

Get articles, books, videos, documents and reports. The Interlibrary Loan department staff will handle your request to order, borrow, or renew an item. Filling your Request(s) may take a few days to a week or more, depending on the source of the material.

How does it work?

Before you contact us with an interlibrary loan request first check our catalog, ATLAS. ATLAS contains information on what you can find at the State Library as well as Washburn University's libraries, the Kansas State Historical Society and the Kansas Supreme Court Library. Request an item via the web, phone, fax or email.

How to request items

  • by Phone: 785-296-3296 or 800-432-3919

  • by Fax: 785-296-6650

  • by Email: tom.roth@library.ks.gov

  • Online: If your item is not available in ATLAS (above), search hundreds of libraries accross Kansas through the Kansas Library Catalog. Look for the Request This Item button to submit a request directly. To order online, you must have a valid State Library of Kansas Borrower's Card (number beginning with 25132) as pictured here.
